Akar Foundation (Non Governance Organization) representing an organization of non-profit and non political which founded to join in developing potency and is self-supporting of society in order to effort realize critical society, self-supporting, democratic and with justice social. Its Organization formed at July 12th 2002 and stabilized by Akte Notary No 32, September 8 2006 in Is Haryati. SH Office in Bengkulu and enlist at Badan Kesatuan Bangsa dan Perlindungan Masyarakat Propinsi Bengkulu with No 200/806/III/KBPM

Akar Foundation Objective is Realizing enableness Of Self-Supporting Society, With Justice, Prosperity of Social, Democratic and Economic. And strategic issues which in selecting is

Policy Advocacy (Recondition of land tenure and Renewal of Local Governance),
Enableness of Society especially indigenous peoples (reinforcement of indigenous peoples rights of natural resources),
Economic developing (Reinforcement of Economic Institution, Build of Economic Network).

Akar Foundation in conducting program by principled at values; social accountability, inclusive, participative, democratic, with vision of human rights and justice gender. In this time Akar Foundation become to one of the NGO’s consortium to Supporter of indigenous peoples Movement Bengkulu.

During almost two year of Akar Foundation in conducted program to reach organizational vision in supported by The Shamdana Institute-Global Green Grant Fund to the program of customary land resolution conflict in community of Lembak Beliti with Regency Rejang Lebong. For the conservation issue to forming of conservation Regency in Regency of Lebong supported by Russell E, Train Education for Nature.
